Personal impressions:
Short summary: like home, nice little place to go
if you can abandon hotel service
Location:
Waimanalo Beach is a charming hideaway on
the east side of Oahu that is ideal for romantic couples, as well as ocean sports enthusiasts
(sunbathing, snorkeling, scuba) and nature enthusiasts (cycling, hiking, birding).
Waimanlo Beach is known among local folks as the most beautiful and the
longest white sand beach on the island with deep blue ocean and sand bottom,
which is excellent for swimming, bodysurfing "boogie
boarding", wind and board surfing Tennis courts and golf courses are just a few minutes away. This area
is perfect for your relaxation and recreation.
The township of Waimanalo is situated between the ocean and volcanic mountains, has a country-like character and the
Hawaiin culture remains quite evident here. (Text
was taken from the prospect)
Rooms:
The place is privately owned and has two rooms to rent.
1.st: "Mauka Suite"
is located to the garden with a great mountain view. It is a combined
sleeping/living room with a spacious bath, veranda and a small private
garden.
The 2.nd room is called "Makai
Suite" which is
located to the beach with a great panoramic view towards the ocean.
However the small bathroom/restroom is located outside the
room. It also has a nice veranda with ocean view.
Each room has a phone, a color cable TV and a small refrigerator. Air-condition is provided by
a ceiling-fan which was really enough, we hardly used it. Except
room-cleaning there is no additional service provided, but you are free
to use the kitchen/fridge etc. twenty-four hours a day together with the house owner.
Food:
As I mentioned there is no service provided, but there
are some stores around which offer everything you need and for fast food
there is a McDonalds and a chinese restaurant close by. If you are
looking for more you have to use the car.
Beach:
The beach is wonderful, as it is located away from the
tourist beaches you are mostly alone there. If you know the TV-Series
'Magnum' that's the beach, the set where the series was shot is about 2
Miles away. You can take long walks at the beach without being disturbed.
Excursions:
Hawaii is not only great to go for the beaches but also
for the land-scapes, historian buildings and of course Honolulu. You
should definetly plan some days only for sightseeing. I've been there
two times and far away of seen it all.
